Thank you for using MonCargo.
We’re pleased to announce a new feature that allows users to input and manage Requested ETD and ETA (planned departure and arrival dates), in addition to the automatically retrieved data.

Until now, MonCargo has managed delays based on ETD and ETA information automatically retrieved from vessel schedules. With this update, you can now manually enter and manage your own Requested ETD/ETA—for example, dates agreed upon with internal teams or external partners.

This enables centralized management of both actual and planned shipment schedules directly within MonCargo, eliminating the need for Excel files or separate systems.

Feature Details – Input and Display Options for ETD/ETA

The following new settings are now available under:

Team > Basic Settings > Shipment Settings

Each team can individually enable or disable these options.

null

  1. Enable Initial ETD Retrieval
Displays the ETD automatically retrieved when the shipment is first registered.

  2. Enable Requested ETD
Allows users to manually input and display their own planned ETD (Requested ETD).

  3. Enable Initial ETA Retrieval
Displays the ETA automatically retrieved when the shipment is first registered.

  4. Enable Requested ETA
Allows users to manually input and display their own planned ETA (Requested ETA).

Additional Notes

  • These settings affect shipment detail views, search filters, and shareable links.
  • Delay days (the gap between requested and actual ETD/ETA) are displayed in both the shipment list and the advanced search screen.
  • CSV exports will include all ETD/ETA fields, regardless of whether they are enabled in the team settings.

Background

Why We Introduced Manual Input for ETD/ETA

MonCargo was originally designed with the principle of minimizing manual input, using automated ETD/ETA retrieval as the foundation. However, we found that in real-world logistics workflows, users often:

  • Manage Requested ETD/ETA —such as those instructed by shippers or submitted to freight forwarders— in separate Excel files
  • Want to compare the planned dates with the actual ETD/ETA but have no system-based record of the planned dates
  • Struggle with dispersed information that prevents unified schedule management

To solve these issues, we concluded that it’s more efficient to allow users to input and manage planned dates directly in MonCargo, where they belong.

This is particularly valuable for inventory and lead time optimization, where the ability to analyze the gap between planned and actual shipment schedules is critical.

By enabling the management of Requested ETD/ETA directly in MonCargo,
you can streamline schedule coordination, delivery tracking, and stock planning with greater accuracy.

We will continue to improve MonCargo in line with real operational needs to help maximize visibility and efficiency in maritime logistics.
