Thank you for using MonCargo.

We are pleased to announce that MonCargo Connect now allows you to choose the default sharing scope for newly uploaded attached files.

In ocean freight and trade operations, each shipment involves numerous documents such as bills of lading (B/L), invoices, packing lists, container photos, and customs-related paperwork. In addition to internal team members, there are many situations where progress updates and documents need to be shared with multiple parties including shippers, freight forwarders, warehouses, customs brokers, and trading partners.

MonCargo Connect provides features designed to make it easier to manage files, track progress, and share information among stakeholders on a per-shipment basis for ocean freight operations.

With this update, companies that share attached files with guest members can now reduce the effort of changing the sharing scope after each upload.

This feature is available to companies using MonCargo Connect.

Key Details

You can choose from the following options for the default sharing scope of attached files:

  • Host only
  • Host and all guests

This setting applies to newly uploaded attached files. The sharing scope of existing attached files will not be changed automatically.

You can also continue to change the sharing scope on a per-file basis.

For detailed instructions and more information about sharing scope options, please refer to the help page.

Background

MonCargo Connect provides the ability to share shipment-related files between host companies and guest members.

Previously, the default sharing scope for attached files was set to "Host only," and sharing files with guest members required changing the sharing scope for each file individually.

However, in practice, there are many cases where companies operate under the assumption that attached files will be shared with guest members, and we received requests for a more efficient way to handle file sharing.

With this update, we have made it possible to choose the default sharing scope for newly uploaded attached files, making it easier to accommodate these workflows.

We will continue to listen to feedback from logistics professionals and work on feature improvements that help streamline ocean freight and international logistics operations.
