New Feature: CSV Bulk Update Released – Edit Existing Shipment Data All at Once

Thank you for using MonCargo.
We’re pleased to announce the release of a new feature that allows you to perform CSV bulk updates on existing shipment records.

With this feature, you can selectively update specific fields for previously registered shipments. This is especially useful in cases where certain information is confirmed after booking or when you want to organize past data in bulk — significantly reducing manual work.
This feature is available on all MonCargo plans.

Feature Overview

From the top-right corner of the shipment list view, select CSV Bulk Update from the Other Operations menu.
You can upload a CSV file to update multiple shipment records at once.

The following fields can be updated:

• Title
• Requested ETD (Estimated Time of Departure)
• Requested ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival)
• Custom Fields (*Premium plan only)

The system uses the shipment_id column in the CSV file as a key to identify and overwrite the corresponding records.
Sample CSV files are available in both Shift JIS and UTF-8 formats on the upload screen.

Note: This is an overwrite operation. If necessary, we recommend using the CSV Export function to back up your data before proceeding.

Background

Until now, MonCargo has supported bulk registration of shipment data via CSV. However, many users expressed the need to edit existing data using CSV as well.
In particular, the following challenges were frequently raised:

• The need to update multiple Requested ETD/ETA values at once
• The need to apply finalized information after booking
• After upgrading to the Premium plan, the need to bulk register internal management codes using custom fields

Previously, these updates had to be made manually one by one. With the new CSV Bulk Update feature, such tasks can now be performed much more efficiently.

Use Cases

This feature is useful in scenarios such as:

1. Bulk updating Requested ETD/ETA in response to changes from the sales or shipping department
2. Correcting input errors or applying standardized naming conventions across titles
3. After upgrading to the Premium plan, using custom fields to register internal codes or department information
4. Entering finalized information, such as invoice numbers, after booking confirmation
